Through roza, we choose hunger so our hearts may soften. For millions of children, hunger is not a choice.
The future is shaped by how faithfully we care for the next generation.
As this blessed month nears its end, we find ourselves returning to the lessons Ramadan has been quietly teaching us: discipline, gratitude, restraint — and respect for the profound connection that comes from understanding another’s hunger.
Through roza, we choose to experience hunger so that our hearts may soften. This act reminds us that for millions of children in Bangladesh, hunger is not a spiritual practice. It is not a choice. It is a daily deprivation that shapes their bodies, their learning, and their futures.
The rituals of iftar, on the other hand — the relief that comes with that first sip of water, the nourishment of a warm meal — these gifts remind us what every child deserves.
Ramadan helps us remember that every child should have the energy to learn and the chance to grow with dignity. Every child should be able to enjoy being a child.
In this season, many offer zakat so others may flourish. Every school meal is an act of that same stewardship. With our zakat, we participate in a truth shared across cultures and beliefs: the future is shaped by how faithfully we care for the next generation.
We invite you to carry forward the spirit of iftar [with a donation to Thrive]. Your zakat ensures that children receive the nourishment that helps them learn, grow, and feel the grace of iftar, every day.
May these last days of Ramadan bring you peace, clarity, and abundant blessings.
With prayers for a blessed season,
Amna & Sadia
