Thrive began as a tiny expat start-up; its tremendous growth has come from the generous commitment of local and international support.

We were founded by three moms who arrived in Bangladesh in 2012. They saw hungry children and asked the slum schools what they needed most. The resounding response was food, so they and local leaders jumped in.

In 2016, our co-founder moved to the Philippines and brought Thrive’s mission with her. She and volunteers began feeding the Smokey Mountain community and then shifted to feeding four schools nationwide. With a foundation in place, Thrive-Philippines is ready to scale with its Thrive Thousands Campaign to feed thousands more Filipino schoolchildren.

With Thrive’s overwhelmingly positive community response, we expanded our meals and the schools we serve.
