Ruwaida is a bright 10-year-old girl from the slums of Dhaka, someone whose life you can profoundly impact through your generosity.

Ruwaida starts her day early. She loves going to school but hunger distracts her. “When I go to school hungry, my stomach growls for food,” she says. Dhaka’s slums are home to around 4 million people, many of whom live below the poverty line. The Institute of Nutrition and Food Science of Dhaka University report that 40 percent of school-aged (6-12) children still suffer from malnutrition, affecting children’s ability to learn.

Despite these challenges, thanks to Thrive’s presence at her school, Ruwaida remains hopeful and is able to dream of a brighter future. “I love eating eggs and I eat all the nuts,” she says, her eyes shining with gratitude.

By supporting Thrive, you ensure that Ruwaida and so many other children like her receive nutritious meals at school. These meals are more than just food; they are a lifeline, allowing children to learn and breaking the cycle of poverty.
