At 9, Hanzala begged his parents to be allowed to attend Jaago school, in the Dhaka slums. From his first day, Hanzala looked forward to Thrive’s daily meals there. He studied hard and dreamed of being a famous cricket player. Ten years later, Hanzala’s father, Mofazzel, brags about his son’s academic success and his strength and stamina on the cricket pitch. Now 19, Hanzala has beat the odds and stayed in school. He has grown to be a healthy young adult. He has a chance at his dream and a chance for a better life.
